Holiday baking: Reindeer Biscuits + Christmas tag download.

I really get excited around this time of year purely for the multitude of things you can make/bake/craft and create! This is such a fun holiday baking idea! There’s almost always a never-ending list of people you can give to and I’m all about spreading some of that Christmas cheer! Last weekend I decided to bake some quick and easy reindeer biscuits – these are so quick, easy and simple that they would make a super fun parents + kids holiday activity!

INGREDIENTS:

500g marg

1 and half cups sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla essence

4 and 3/4 cups flour

pretzels (I used about 500g, but it will depend if you want to break them up or not!)

dark chocolate chips

smarties (I bought enough bags/boxes to make sure I only used red/pink for the noses – BUT as I discovered, Smarties have changed their red colouring slightly so now the pigment doesn’t last like it used to!)

METHOD:

Cream together 500g marg and 1 and half cups sugar (use a hand beater if you have one!)
Add 1 teaspoon vanilla essence.
Add sifted flour.
Beat until smooth and it forms a stiff dough.
Roll into balls.
Press down lightly with a fork.
Break bits of pretzel to resemble antlers and place them in the top corners of the biscuit.
Place the choc chips into the biscuit for eyes.
Place the (red) smartie in the middle for the nose.

Bake at 175 degrees c or (360′  F) for about 18 – 20 mins or until golden brown.

 

I decided to package mine up 6 to a bag with a little “love from the reindeer” note.

I attached the little notes to the biscuit packages with some co-ordinating washi tape.
