Wedding dress adventures, Chacabuco Chile

At the end of 2018, we flew off to Santiago, Chile to meet my mom, dad, brother and his girlfriend for a 2 week cruise on Norwegian Cruise Liners to cruise from Chile down the west coast of South America around Cape Horn and then back up the east coast of South America to Argentina.

On the cruise we celebrated Christmas, New Year and a belated 60th for my dad! My parents have seemingly declared themselves “Cruisers” now so you’ll have to hold tight for some snaps of the epic “Cruising Clan” Kit that we all donned as part of the adventure.

I’d never been on a cruise so I was interested to see how this whole “floating hotel” thing really worked. I have to say I was a bit seasick on the first two days but I also have to clearly state that it’s a WIN to have the inclusive drinks package on a choppy cruise, as we quickly learnt it’s very easy to substitute “I’m hungover” with “I’m seasick”.

We set sail on 22nd December and the second place we docked at was Puerto Chacabuco in Chile on Christmas Day. We booked a tour out to one of the Waterfalls in the forests of Patagonia.

We had our wedding kit bundled up into our backpack (as usual!) and asked our tour guide where the best place to take a “wedding snap” was. He suggested the waterfall – so, once everyone had disembarked from the bus to walk around the Waterfall, Warr and I made a quick change in the back of the bus into our wedding gear.

Thankfully I had the helping hands of my mom and brother’s girlfriend Kelly, to help manoeuvre me into a puffy wedding dress in the aisle of a tiny tour bus.

Being Christmas day, we had all woken up and adorned ourselves in Antler Ears ready for breakfast – and, as one does on Christmas day, we wore them in a merry reindeer pack for the rest of the day! So of course we needed some pics with our Antler horns to mark the occasion.

Whenever we do any of our wedding dress adventures – it’s always WAY easier when there is a crew, and in this case – a herd of merry reindeer, who are able to help you take pictures, get changed and crowd control! ha!

We also needed to grab a few snaps without our antlers –

Since we were all in our team Christmas-kit we needed a snap with the whole herd – so we flung off the camera to our friendly tour guide who grabbed these snaps for us!wedding dress couple

It’s always so funny to me as whenever we post or share any of these Wedding Dress Adventure snaps, it’s usually just Warren and I  – so the pics we have are always the “end shot” when we’ve managed to find someone to (tentatively) give our camera to! In this case we had family helping us out – so we have way more many “behind-the-scenes” shots! Like running shoes peeking out under wedding frills and a lot of huffing and puffing trying to climb up a large boulder in an oversized wedding dress…

Chile is now the 12 different country we’ve taken snaps in – and we had 3 more countries to add to the list after this trip – (cruising for the win!) and I’m looking forward to sharing the next adventure with you!
