7 things Sunday

Another edition of 7 things Sunday, although I very nearly didn’t get round to doing this as it’s already 9:27pm. But here they are:

  1. I feel so grateful to be able to chat to my dad for Father’s Day this morning. (Sorry for waking you up Dad!) There are so many people I know who aren’t able to wish their Father’s so I just want to acknowledge my gratitude to be able to tell my dad I love him.
  2. Husband has been VERY hungover today. Possibly the worst hungover I’ve seen him in years. I discovered around 4pm this afternoon, that actually him and his friend (who were watching the rugby here) decided to go over and join the Irish neighbours sometime around midnight as they celebrated a 60th.
  3. I’m partway through a very experimental canvas creation. The super loose digital inspiration that I mocked up is above – so now I’ve been trying to apply it to a giant canvas I have – which so far has involved printing several A3 sheets, a pencil, a stanley knife and a lot of slicing.
  4. Many people have messaged me about the story I shared on choosing to always start airing your viewpoint in arguments with,  “The story I am making up is…” – this completely neutralises the argument, and allows you to take ownership of the stories that you yourself create. It’s very powerful and effective – definitely try it this week! It comes from Brene Brown’s book Rising Strong.
  5. I’ve been VERY productive today – I’ve cleaned the kitchen, washed the dishes, unpacked the dishwasher, done a 30 min meditation, finished my book, ran a 6k, done a load of Warren’s work shirts, got groceries, read my magazine, went to the printer, went to a coffee shop to business plan and then came home to get started on my canvas. Possibly in the name of self-righteousness whilst my husband lay comatose on the couch. I had a great day, but I’m also very intrigued as to my behaviour in relation to my husbands hangover. Why do we do this? I’m going to mull it over a bit more in the week…
  6. Despite of my Self-righteous-Sunday Vibe that I’ve got going on today – I’ve really been in a good place lately. A lot of it to do with the internal studies, the journaling, the creative practices I’ve been getting into, the meditation practices and the alignment work I’ve been getting into lately. A lot of the stuff that I bring to my Voyage to the Soul Program. It really is a practice – but it’s so darn worth it! Will share more soon.
  7. I’ve decided to shake things up a bit with my approach to social media, Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram… over the next little while testing some new things – follow along if you like!

Hope you have a fab week! Now off to give my husband the head-scratch he has been longing for all day.

x
