Voyage to the Soul 6 week online self discovery course.

There is such an interesting energetic overlap between the blockages we experience in our every day lives and what shows up as blockages in our creative expression. And also that so much of the chakra system (the energy system of the body associated with yoga and many other Eastern traditions) connects to the concepts of creativity: stepping into your creative identity; connecting to styles, objects, patterns and prints that make you FEEL a certain way; where your centre of expression lies; finding your voice; having a clear vision; trusting yourself.

This course is for you if you are looking to reignite your inspiration, to dive deep into the connection between spirituality and creativity, to feel creatively fuelled and to give yourself the opportunity for some time for yourself for self discovery and opening up to new ways of seeing the world around you.

Voyage to Soul Movement and Art Journaling Course overview:
6 week online course

  • Date: Every Sunday starting 13th September.
  • Time: Sunday 9:30am – 11:00am BST
  • Meeting live via zoom
  • Sessions will include a yoga/movement element (all levels/newbies welcome) as well as some self enquiry and creative prompts to explore related to the weeks theme.
  • Some weeks will also offer some fun things to explore during the week in your own time.
  • Access to private facebook group where I will share some of the fun creative prompts to dive into during the week. This will also be a place where we can share and collaborate with ideas and inspiration.
  • You will need a blank or lined journal for this course.
  • There are other essential art journal supplies that you will need – but (other than an adhesive and something to write with) these will be gathered items – which I will explain in the welcome email.
  • Early bird pricing: £65 for the 6 weeks offer until August 31st, thereafter £85 for the 6 week course.
  • I will also be offering a fully funded space to 2 black women and 2 women of colour who would like to join. Could be friends or independent people! If you identify as black or a person of colour, please email me with the subject “Creative scholarship”. It will be first come first served on this.

Some questions you may be pondering:

What if I can’t make the Sunday 9:30am – 11am time slot?
We will meet live on Sunday mornings (BST), if you are unable to join the live session for the week, you can watch the replay in your own time. The replay will be shared in the private facebook group. You can also check in with the facebook group to see what conversation and discussion has come up through the session.

What if I’m not on Facebook?
If you are not on Facebook – you can let me know and I will send the replays to your email.

The facebook group will be a place where I can both share useful things for you to sink your teeth into as well as being a place where you can share what you have worked on during the week. If you are not on facebook, I will still be able to share my content with you, you just won’t be able to see what everyone else is sharing.

How much extra time will the creative exercises/prompts take? I don’t have enough time as it is!
Some weeks there may be a creative prompt or an exercise that you will benefit from doing in your own time. The purpose of these prompts is not to overwhelm or overload you, but rather to get you thinking creatively, put the principles into practice or shift into a new paradigm. As with anything, the more you put into the course, the more you will get out. Most of these would not take more than 20 minutes or would be something that would fit into your regular day anyway. Having said that if you are feeling overwhelmed with life as it is, then it is totally ok to wait until you are feeling more grounded. (If this course goes well, then I’m sure I will run it again!)

I’m not ”good” at art/yoga – can I still join?
YOU are exactly the person I’m looking for!

My aim for this course is to challenge your perception of what it means to be an ‘artist’, of what it means to create and how these blockages and labels that we give ourselves can feed into other aspects of our lives. The movement practices will be accessible to all.

Will we be doing movement/yoga for 90 minutes?
No. Each week will be slightly different depending on the theme and what we are exploring. Some weeks may favour more of a meditation practice and say a 45 min slow flow, other weeks may feature a dynamic flow with a bigger creative/self enquiry portion. The movement portion including a relaxation will never be longer than 75 mins. I will tell you beforehand each week if there are any particular things that you need to bring to the session.
